April has arrived! What's great about April?
- On a personal note, I love the start of a new MLB season. It's fun to see if my Cubs and Dbacks will come out of the gate strong. So far, so good. I know, it's early. :>)
- On a professional note, Senior portraits are taken every weekend. This will be the peak of activity for those who plan. The seniors and their parents are filled with excitement. The seniors are trying to dot the i's and cross the t's to make it official in May. Every client is focused on getting grad cards in the mail ahead of the rush.
What makes April a great time to do your senior portraits in Arizona?
The weather: 2025 brought mixed blessings. The temps would heat up through the week and then cool down on the weekends. Temperatures were very comfortable. We enjoyed some nice cloudy days followed by sunsets where the colors are unrivaled.
The scenery: Peak desert wildflowers, saguaro blooms, wild horses by the river, and plenty of green background options. The Rose Garden at MCC is a beautiful location at this time of year for the flower aficionados.
Beat the rush: In April, you have plenty of time to get grad cards out. As we near the back half of the month, I ask my clients to focus on selecting the photos they want retouched for grad cards. That helps them meet their goals without adding pressure to their timeline and plates.
Mother's Day: April is also a great time to capture a couple of photos to surprise your mom with a current representation of you. It's the perfect gift. After all, you are a part of what makes that day special to mom.
I say find a great wardrobe that complements you, pack a snack, and let's head to some great locations to get you a collection of photographs that best represent who you are.
Best wishes,
David
