October 2025
October has arrived! Historically, the month has focused heavily on high school sports and senior portrait photography. This year, I did capture some high school sports. In addition, I deliberately focused time on different activities for personal reasons.
Everyone who knows me will tell you David isn't a transactional person. I choose to work with clients who share my values, appreciate and respect one another, and I like enough to become lifelong friends. I genuinely care about individuals and their life paths, not just a one-time photo session. The activities I prioritized in October 2025 demonstrate this.
The first activity was helping my very first senior portrait client celebrate her engagement! We first met Raevin and her family over 15 years ago through a local kids' swim club. When Raevin was a high school senior, I was fortunate enough to take her on as my first client. To this day, my wife and I get together with her parents regularly for lunch or dinner to catch up and celebrate life. Raevin and her fiancé live out of state. They called to ask if I would take their engagement photos.
Honored and thrilled, I worked with them to craft a session tailored to their interests, personality, and needs. They wanted fall colors, informal outfits, and not feel like forced poses. Since they live out of state, we had to watch weather reports and coordinate travel to a location to execute their vision. We met in Flagstaff, AZ, which was halfway for both of us. After a very long, but fun day of capturing photos, they have photographs they can cherish for a lifetime. We have the joy of spending time with them and helping celebrate.
The second activity was tied to a friend I met while working at Intel over 30 years ago. Jeff and I have stayed in touch over the years, but haven't formally worked together for decades. Jeff recently celebrated his 25th anniversary as a successful Real Estate broker. During that same time, I've continued my journey in high tech while developing my photography skills. Photography started as a hobby, then turned into a part-time business.
Since the call, I have joined Jeff in a professional referral group and look forward to collaborating on activities in 2026.
Years come and go, but friendships can last a lifetime. Let us help you celebrate your life milestones along the way.
Best wishes,
David
